Evolve F8X M3 / M4 ECU Remap

We've been busy developing our ECU remap as well as the Eventuri Intake over the last few months and would like to share the results.

March Blog-50 by Evolve Automotive, on Flickr

This is our initial Stage 1 ECU Remap. Of course as time goes on I am sure we will be making improvements to it and customers will receive free updates when we do.

Gains are 67 BHP peak and 90 lb.ft Torque and 75 BHP through the RPM range. The initial dips in the dyno graph are caused by the car launching on the dyno and are not felt on the road.

This does require removal of the ECU and bench flashing it at present but we hope to offer OBD tuning at some point later this year.

As most owners are concerned about warranty I know it won't appeal to the majority but just wanted to get the information out there. We will be releasing information on our Stage 2 upgrade with downpipes in the next week as well as the addition of the Eventuri Intake.

How will my new 60k M4 improve with this map?
The car is a maniac as stock, can't get power down at the best of times.
Evolve mapped my old e90 335i, and the product, service was the best you could wish for I just don't where the m4 can go?

My F10 M5 has 700 lb.ft torque from around 2000 RPM - you just have to modulate the throttle.

In all seriousness the improvements are most noticeable when over taking and in gear acceleration as launching the new M cars is difficult with the amount of torque they produce in standard form.

Fitting wider/stickier tyres also helps with launches if thats what you are looking to achieve.

That is downpipes, remap, labour and dyno.

And a JB4 on its own would not produce as much power on our dyno. You can't compare the figures from US dynos.

Would be good to get a Jb4 with downpipes on that dyno to compare.

JB4 map 2 is meant to be around 540hp

How much is this stage 2 without the evolve downpipes?

On a Dyno Dynamics? Any graphs?

The full ECU remap is £1200 inc VAT.

£2.5k for ecu tune, downpipes plus labour and dyno run is pretty good.

I have the the jb4 stage3 which was about £600 plus down pipes around 1k depending on what ones you get plus labour approx £400. so thats coming in at 2k plus your dyno run.

Would be interesting to compare this tune against the jb4 though.

I assume this removes the top speed limiter?

Mike

Hi Mike

Yes it helps to know what it includes before making judgements about perceived value.

It does remove the top speed limiter.

Some people are just blind.

Would it be possible to come in and just get the limiter removed without the rest of the ecu tuning and if so how much would that be?

Mike

I havn't yet no but me and a couple of guys were actually thinking of going down to Evolve and getting a dyno run done. So it would be a good time to compare results using the same dyno.

Not blind as such, just concerned about warrantee issues in my case.
