Rodents?!?!?

Tpm sensor went off about a couple of days ago figured it might be tire pressure...checked tire pressure and eeverything was good (checked manually) tried to reset, didn't even give me the option to reset.

Got car diagnosed turns out from what they told me that rodents chewed the wiring for my transmitter or something dealing with myTPM will update with name.

Wtf right?

On my 06, I had mouse damage to the fuel evap line, and the associated wiring. The dealer suggested I see about getting it covered under comprehensive, which I did. It was pretty funny when the young woman from corporate called about the "moose damage to my car"! No, mouse damage. Moose damage is something else!

A tin cat is also a good option if you don't want a real cat: http://www.amazon.com/Victor-Humane-.../dp/B00004RAMU

You bait it once, and the mice the get trapped serve as a continual bait source. I usually scraped it out twice a year or so. It'll get pretty gross, but it works! Also, it says humane, but you totally just use it as I described if you don't want to be freeing mice. Much easier.

Thanks to owls & foxes, there aren't too many mice in my area but I had chipmunks chew up the wiring to the outside temp sensor on my E46. Since the car thought ambient was -40o, the A/C compressor wouldn't kick in - so I had to spring for the repair.

Yep.....Spent $700 last winter on rodent repairs to the evap line, a wiring harness and boost lines.

Rodent damage is why I always carry a $100 deductible on Comprehensive coverage. It is silly to have a $500 or $250 deductible.

Go to a zoo or animal store, ask if you can have or buy the skin that is shed from a snake. Just put it where ever you have mice.... fracking things will run over themselves trying to get out of the area.

Use to do it when I was growing up on the farm with the grainery. Lay a couple black snake skins (or catch a black snake) and turn him loose and mice/rats go bye bye.

Buy a cat to get rid of the rodent problem then buy a dog to get rid of the cat. Now you have a real pet. Sorry cat people.

My dogs hunt mice. They love it when they find one living in the lift...

The lower the deductible the higher the premium, even the with the $700 out of pocket over the many, many years I'm still way ahead on premium costs. The $500 deductible is also aligned with my cash-flow risk tolerance and claims history ( 1 in the last 10 years) so it makes sense.

LOL in the winter in my old 07 335xi, something was living in my engine bay. Insulation was chewed up and torn.
