Helix or Dinan2...who will hit the market first?
i wonder which will hit the market first....i am eagerly awaiting the helix attache and dinan stage 2 to hit the market.
with helix $795 and FMIC at ~$950 appears to be a great tune. if dinan can package the Dinan stage 2/FMIC at a reasonable price. it will be a toss up between the two. any new on the ETA for both tunes??? |

I think it was alex@helix who said "a few weeks".
I was reasonably interested in Dinan2 until I heard about it requiring the dinan oil cooler. Seeing as I already have a secondary oil cooler, I cant see much point in paying $2k.

Dinan2 doesn't require the Dinan oil cooler, if you already have a secondary cooler, it requires an upgraded IC.

i have a factory oil cooler. i dont need to upgrade their larger one? with the Dinan stage 2.
i am interested in the FMIC as it increased rwhp by ~20 if i recall correctly. Helix is projected at ~$950. any idea what Dinan FMIC will sell for? |

Dinan's base tune extracts: +71whp/+87tq (at the wheels) extra. I would think Stage2 Kit would provide more gains. Although not as significant as the base tune. I'm sure the Stage2 would center more around better efficiencies and engine breathing.

Dinan2 will offer MORE power, and will be a stronger tune. The Dinan2 flash can be added if you already have the Dinan1 flash, all you have to do is pay the difference. An upgraded IC is part of the Dinan2 flash as well, for even greater enhancement.

I'm seriously thinking about it...
It is all dependent upon the IC situation (price, labor, etc.). My car is a lease, so I don't want to invest too much money in it that I'll never see again (unless I take out the parts and sell them). |

So many freakin options now-a-days makes spending my $$$ more difficult, probably best bet is to wait for everyone to have their products out i.e. Helix, Dinan2, etc. and see what happens with these tunes 3 - 6 months down the line....then make a decision. that way maybe we can weed out what style of tune w/ options best suits those in waiting..... 1.5 cents |

Is the stg 2 dependent on Dinan's IC, or can a "regular" Spearco or another brand of IC be used?

Stage II-Subscribing pending price
Very interested in the Dinan stage II.
Subscribing pending price. Wiling to indefinitely "test" for a reduced price. |

I had my service guy check with his Dinan contact regarding the Dinan Phase 2 flash, and here's what he found out:
- The Phase 2 flash is still under development, likely out in next 4-8 weeks - Flash will provide roughly 20 hp more than the regular Dinan Flash - Phase 2 also requires the install of a Dinan provided (Spearco?) FMIC - Lastly .... and this is the bad news .... Phase 2 flash requires the Dinan Oil Cooler upgrade (they will NOT do a phase 2 flash to cars equipped with the stock secondary oil cooler) |

Thanks for the info. I think Dinan will loose some support if they require the use of there oil cooler upgrade...based on cost |

Good info. Looks like we can expect the total Dinan Stage 2 package to be roughly a gazillion dollars, give or take a few. Helix should be raking it in (rightfully so) for $750 vs, roughly $5-6k for parts and labor for the stage 2 Dinan? What a joke!
