I'd suggest UTorrent client for one. Select the port to open in the application itself. MAke sure the port is whitelisted on the windows firewall. Encrypt the traffic (option in the agent) to limit detection by some ISPs who don't like that kind of traffic for whatever reason.

First off, i have no experience of the Virgin Home hub you have, we do not come across any of these in the Business world.

But normally when we have a port Issue, the steps we take are first to turn off all firewalls (Temp) to see if we can connect. If not it is not a open port issue!

If you can connect, then you have to know what prot you need to allow through The torrent site should advise what port or range of ports to open and whether the traffic is TCP or UDP (Or both).

Then place an 'Allow' in the windows firewall first and test connectivity still exists.

The open required port on router (or range). What may be better than willy nilly opening ports is to port forward that port to you PC internal IP address, then that port is only open to your PC and not the rest of you network at home (If you have one).

As i said i am not aware of the way the Virgin Router (Hub) operates an you may not be able to NAT or Port forward. BT Home Hub can, so i would imaging Virgin will allow this to be done.

Finally test connectivity and you should be good to go.

Word of warning ....SOME, (and again i am not sure about Virgin) ISP will not allow traffic from torrent sites, or they do and then monitor what you are pulling down (Know what i mean??), so you may be advised to look up using a Proxy Browser, where you connect via a foreign IP address!

Can still be tracked, but the tracker needs to have some sophisticated equipment and dedication to track you, and of course the desire!!!

HTH
