Best option for license plate holder/bracket?

I have been driving around NY with the F83 with no front plate... Just got my second ticket for that. I haven't been caught speeding, only for the plate. Both times in a parking lot.

Figure its about time to get a front plate holder.

Which one should I buy? Keeping in mind that I have PDC and don't want the plate to interfere with it.

Hopefully people have dealt with this already and have put them on their cars.

Thanks in advance!

I really don't like the tow hook installation because I don't like the lop-sided look. I got this one. It center mounts, but don't have to drill holes in the front of the bumper.

No joke. Can put plate anywhere, at any angle, at any height. Stays on until you decide to remove, then it comes off like any other emblem. FIshing line and hairdryer, and goof off and you're done. No drilling, no fuss, no muss.

This is how BMW attaches temporary Munich plates during ED.

Costs next to nothing too.

I have them as well but its really a pain in the ass to install them .. since it is on the side .. you have lose the bracket everytime you spin it around to make it tight in the tow hook .. so at the moment I am driving without it in the front lets see when i get pulled over ...

yep, just installed it last nite, it is indeed a bit of a pain in the ass. I worry that a bump will shake the bolt loose. i am saving it for a fix it ticket or if I am going into a major city area where there are a lot of cops and fix it tickets from parking enforcement (meter areas).

Going to apply a threadlocker to keep it from shaking loose.

i think if you get it really tight with spinning the bracket it wont get lose .. but doing so is really shitty since you cant spin it fully and you need always to lose the bracket tight it again und spin further ^^

I see so many sportcars here in VA with VA plates without front LP .. so at the moment I dont care.

So it's not as easy as the video shows it to be? Maybe I should have bought the Porsche then!

I'm so glad I live in a state that does not require front plates.

Best option for license plate holder/bracket?

Unfortunately, I live in a state that requires the front plate. Is there a tow hook option that anyone has used or has pictures of? I do not want to drill into my front bumper so was looking for this as an option

Several companies make variations of these, here's one example.
http://www.usmillworks.com/bmw_front..._tow_hook.html

Also there is the Sto-n-Sho plate that you can mount and dismount from the front bumper as needed. Just have to mount a small piece under the front bumper that it attaches to (either with 3M tape or screws into bottom of bumper)

http://shop.bigmikesperformanceparts.com

If you're interested in the Sto-n-sho I have a spare....dealer installed the stock plate on mine so never needed to install the Sto-n-sho I had waiting (was custom made for an F80).

I got custom plates to match my Ed plates, so I just stuck the Ed plate to the front, which I actually like the look, and have gotten away with it even in comunisitfornia

How picky are your cops? Washington requires them but after having been pulled over several times without a plate for...other reasons, not a single cop has mentioned it. 2 years with no plate and so far, no issues.

Cops don't bother me with that in nyc but the stupid parking agents sure do... Got like 4 tickets in a 2 day period around the city so had to put the plate on quick...

I don't know, but rather have the ability to put it on as needed. I drove around my mustang for years with no plate, but I barely drove that car other than to shows.

My wife is a bigger issue than the cops. She gives me a lot of crap for not running the front plate, and how mad she will be if I get a ticket. She follows the law on everything....so I rather just have it on there, it doesn't bother me how it looks, I just don't want the front bumper drilled.

US Millworks seems like a good option
