Less lag on 2015 328s?

just noticed on BMWUSA website claims 2015 328i's 255lb/ft torque is available at 1250rpm to 4800rpm...which doesnt sound remotely like the 2012 N20 i have, as well as, the dyno charts out there on N20/26.

Those with 2015s, when does the party start for you all? Mine doesn't happen til 2500rpm...which kinda suck. I'd run to my dealer to find out but on vacation atm.

Try driving it in DS instead of D it keeps the engine in the torque band.

Torque numbers have nothing to do with lag. You feel like torque can't come on fully because of the lag and the engine reving too fast, but if you were to let say start in 5th gear at 10Mph, by the time you get to 1250rpm you should have full boost, though it's worthless.

If you're just coming off the brake pedal, there's some noticeable turbo lag off idle but the car seems to go fairly quickly. Pre-load it a bit to get it on boost and it'll take off. I still haven't just flat out stomped on the go pedal yet to test the car..(now with about 2200 miles). They're quick for 4-pots..

It's there at 1250 rpm but you have to brake boost to get the turbo going to build boost. All turbos have some lag do to how they work, unless you use an electric turbo to start things off.

The twinpower design does help minimize lag.

If you want to feel better about turbo lag, when you get home go out and test drive a S3. Trust me, you will have no issues with the lag in yours.

True. I drove the S3 before getting my GC. The first thing I noticed was the major lag it had. It'll go like hell though after with 290hp..but how often do you do that?
