Can't join you, but I did mine at Phillip Island a few months ago. Absolutely fantastic! I have no doubt you'll have an amazing day!

If you could spare 2 days, suggest you travel down to Philip Island for the course. For the same course$$ you get a much nicer track. You should nevertheless enjoy the intensive course at SMP.

FWIW, if you could demonstrate that you have taken track work or courses equivalent to the intensive course, you may get exemption and join the M Dynamic course. M Dynamic is def more fun.

Thanks for the heads up....I booked before I saw your post , but I am planning a trip to Melbourne so maybe the M DYNAMIC DRIVING EXPERIENCE could also be an option. You have to complete the Intensive Driving course before you can do the M Dynamic so It could all work out fine

Just had a call from BMW Aust and they told me I will be getting a complimentary BMW Intensive Driving Course day. I told them I just did it this week so he said well I can use it to upgrade to the M DYNAMIC DRIVING EXPERIENCE. Great news ...made my day

one session for the day should involve an instructor taking 2 cars on the track leading/driving as quickly as the first trailing car could whilst he observes you from his rearview mirror.... yes they are that experienced and would pick up your driving lines and nuances.

in my group of 2 cars, one of the other drivers was very green and apprehensive. IMO he wasted that time with the instructor and received some very unflattering comments. Whilst the instructor was honest in his appraisal, the other driver was visibly shattered by middle of the whole day.

so if you aren't a frequent track goer or in fact haven't track your car in anger, suggest you go out for a couple before the M day. you would get much more value from your free invite + $500? paid for the day.

just a thought.

Thanks Jaffa12
Ive already done the intensive driving course and I used to have a CAMS licence a long time ago, so Im looking for a great day of fun
good thing about the M Dynamic day is there is only 12 people in the group instead of 24

I hope I can fill the whole rear view mirror of the instructors car but I doubt it :-)

Sounds great, be great to drive these cars (especially belonging to someone else...) on the track.

What circuit at SMP did they use?

Just the short circuit, left at turn 4

Still great.

Interesting the instructor is trying to watch you in his mirror. The obvious place would be for him to be onboard wih you, or even behind you.

It's a way of them controlling the pace

Did you guys get this for free when you bought the m235?

I just got an email a few days ago saying that I haven't used my voucher yet... and there were spots available later in the year.

But I never received any voucher when I picked the car up/in welcome pack?!

This would be the North circuit then, the short one is over the back from Turn 5.

North is fun though, takes in the main straight and T2.

I have had my car 2 weeks and also never received a voucher. But I did get a call from a BMW ambassador or some such last week saying I would be soon receiving my pack. Hope the free voucher is included!

That's what I thought... but then I received an email about not using my voucher?

I called up to check and they said I should have received it with the welcome pack. Although the guy I spoke to didn't sound 100% sure and was meant to get back to me... but never did!

The Intensive Driving Experience Course is offered for free to people who purchase 'M' cars which includes the M235i
If you don't actually get the physical voucher (which can sometimes happen) with your roadside assistance card/ pack you can call BMW on 133 269, give them your details and there will be a voucher allocated to you.

If you have already done the Intensive course you can use your voucher plus $500 and upgrade to the M Dynamic, which is what I have done.
The intensive is a prerequisite for doing the M Dynamic
