I met the new Audi A4 this week....

I work for Audi, and this week went to Munich for the launch of the new Audi Q7 which to be honest should have BMW worried as it makes the X5 suddenly very dated and a bit yesterday. Whilst there, we were shown the coming A4 which they say will be offered with a 3.0TDi Quattro S Tronic which comes in with 109 g/km co2. Pretty healthy figures for the company car drivers. On looks and feeling of quality alone they have done a good job. New tech on the Q7 and A4 looks set to move the game along. Time will tell.....

Interior looks great, but it is seriously dull to look at from the outside.

Those CO2 figure are superb though.

Long story, but I decline a company car and for me it's about the drive
The brand to work for though is a very good place to be....

Those of excessive hair gel persuasion, who get excited at the thought of a 2.0 litre TDI and are called "Gavin" in sales, will be very excited.

The big question though, when do the S4 and RS4 get released?

S4 early 2016, RS4 2017 and rumblings of bringing it back as a saloon again rather than Avant only....

So it has virtual dash (or is it just like the multi display one in the five series) AND an after thought, just stick it on nav screen?

Red one looks like a big A3. Or is it an A3? Dull and uninspiring. Saw a new S3 the other day - only way to tell is S3 badge on front or multi exhausts round back. Otherwise just blends in as another A3. Very unexciting.

Although quality of A4 inside and out is usually infinitely better than a 3.

2017 would work out quite good for me.

3 years in to my PCP and Audi now do decent forces discount...

An Avant obviously

This is RS4 is something that BMW 'avant' got

The external styling is a China copout but still interested to see the specs of the engines and the toys.

And yeah that's both merc and aldi now that have made the nav screen look a complete bolt on afterthought even worse than the 3er!

Haha, the double standards this forum brings is amusing.... How do you tell a 2.0d LCI F30 from a LCI 335d?

You don't. They are identical.

At least the S3 has different grille, mirrors, exhaust and wheels.

I don't think anybody is particularly happy about that! BMW don't do an equivalent model to the S cars really.. maybe if there was a M340i/d then that would be it, and I for one really wished they did, then I wouldn't have to spend so much time modifying my car myself to make it something like that.

So as it is BMW don't claim the 335d to be anything more than a 3 series with a more powerful engine, and to be quite honest, it isn't.

Agree, come on BMW, create an F30 equivalent to the S4.

Agree with this.

I love the f30 but the std 3 series is very common and there is no visible difference between a 316 and 335d for most.

I can't afford to run an full M car due to mileage if BMW did an m335d /435 with subtle differences closer to a full m car I'd be all over it.

I have always felt that the MSport model should have that bit extra, rather than just a bit of cosmetic enhancement.

I agree. They could have the sport model with some sporty cosmetics and then the MSport with proper upgraded suspension, good non runflat tyres, limited slip diffs and power upgrades all available from factory.

The Msport is a trim level equivalent to the S line for Audi

I think BMW should expand the Mxxx models to match the Audi Sx models. Then prehaps drop the x35/x40's from the standard range to give them a bit of distance??

MSport is just a trim level, the same as Luxury and Sport etc.

If you want the all out Sports car, you put your cash in the M Cars....

I don't want an all out sports car! I want the goldilocks option which is the giant hole in BMW's product planning strategy!
