Question Market price for the stock 18"ers?

How much do you think one could get for:

1. A set of stock 18" E92 M3 wheels and tires with 90%+ thread left?

2. Just a set of stock 18" E92 M3 wheels?

Also, who would be interested in buying the 18"ers? Would they fit a E46 M3? How about a 335?

I am considering buying lightweight 19" wheels, but a set would run about $4500-$5000 with tires, so I am trying to figure out what the net cost would be after selling the stock 18"ers...

Me 3. I'm not just thinking it though, I'm going to go ahead and do it. I plan on ordering with the 18's, then having my after market wheels/tires changed out the same day I take delivery.

With us 335 guys, most of the buyers for our oem 18's (mine were 162's) were (are) e90/e92 325 and 330 owners, imo. I'm thinking it might be the same way here....as long as there are no fitment issues.

i've seen people sell OEM for 335's and 328's for like 1000-1500. my friend sold his 17's from 328 for 2k on eBay.

i'd sell them for 2500+ but then i need track wheels

A bit off topic but which light weight 19" are you considering?

BBS RGRs or Morr VS8s for around $2500-$3000 for the set. There will be more options soon. Those wheels weigh ~20lb each for the rears and ~22lb each for the fronts. Stock 19" wheels are ~28lbs and ~29lbs I think although I have not seen exact numbers.

I'm playing with the idea of getting 19" BBS RS-GT and I'll just change my order to 18's. The shortage prob wont affect me since my delivery is prob gonna be in May. I'd like to keep my 18's just in case I will ever need snow tires I'll mount those on.

I'd love to see what your after market wheels look like when its mounted.

is there any authoritative word out there on size compatibility of the e92 m3 stock 18" wheels on other BMW models? I don't like the OEM 18s or the 19's but would ultimately like a good forged wheel, so my preference right now is get the 18's, sell them and buy something else, unless of course there is no market..

The Morr's would look great!

I ordered mine on the stock 18s (which look surprisingly good now the car is here) and have some Breyton GTS Race in Matt Black in 19'' on order along with some Michelin tyres to the same stock as OEM.

My intention is to keep the 18s for track use.

I may pay 1200 for a set with perfect tires. so I could have a set for street and a set for track. when the e46 M3 came out thats about what they were going for . I bought a set of 4 with 200 miles on them for 1200.

problem with the e46 M3 wheels is they would not fit any other cars (unless you had four fronts) ...so they went pretty cheap.

I'd think a sensible option would be to order the car with 19's for the street and buy a set of used 18's for the track, since I imagine they'd be seriously undervauled by the time they make it to ebay.

No joke! Those 18" oem Michelin PS2's cost $1168 & the 19's cost $1382 (Tire Rack). There's no way I'd let them go (w/oem wheels) for less than $2k.

The e92 M3 wheels will not fit on the current 3 series. I'm not sure where the market for this aggressive offsets wheels would be. Might be worth getting the 19s just for the tires if you are planning on using 19s.

I ended up ordering the 19" wheels. They look great in person, so I'm happy. However, I might decide to get 18" track wheels. Then there is the winter situation...

this is all true - but in my experience take off and used parts go for about 50% of list.

if they fit the regular 3 series then you may get 2k. if not, sell for the price of the tires alone.

18's for me. If you are on the fence just get them and save the $1200...IMO

If true - the value of 18's will plunge. especially in the first 3 years or so as they did with the e46. after 4 to 5 years the value is up becuase owners with old M3 with rashed wheels want to buy them.
