Others might be interested as well if looking to do the swap, but was this something that you were able to do yourself or did you have the dealer do it?

Easy / Difficult / Time wise...?

Thanks!

changing out the top and rear trim was incredibly easy. only held in by small tabs and the compression of the rubber gasket. took maybe 20 minutes total to do all 6 pieces. the remaining 4 pieces (top of doors) take a bit more time, but using a $10 set of trim removal tools from amazon did the trick. you do have to tilt the front door panels out to get access to the side view mirror bolts to install the front door trim.....but the trim removal tools made the job very doable. total time spent was about 1.5 hours......most of that time spent on the first door panel removal. second went much quicker. hope that helps.

The price is amazing. I have an E70 Msport and don't do chrome. I imagine other people feel the same.

ok. down to $50. sure would be an easy fix for those of you with water spotted or tarnishing window surrounds. won't find a cheaper OEM solution.

Driver side window trim.

Hello.
I would like to ask you a flavor, since you replaced all your x5 window trims.
I own the x6 F16, somehow I don’t know who used the BB gun, made a hole on my driver side window trim.
I order the replacement part, ready to replace my own.
My question is, to remove old one, do I need to remove driver rear view mirror?
Thank you
Peter.

Yes you have to remove the mirror. Then pull up on the old trim to remove it.
You have to remove the twitter to get access to the mirror bolts. And i think you have to remove the door panel also? I can't remember. It's been a while since I did this.
