SOS call system failure!

Anyone seen this before? I also discovered when fitting my Dashcam yesterday that the footwell power socket is dead - I wonder if it's connected?!

If you unplug the speaker in the drivers footwell, this comes up. It goes again when you reconnect it, but it will be logged on the key when it gets scanned at the dealership.

Oh and I had a dead footwell power socket too, replaced the fuse and it was fine

Turns out it was the battery in the combox - must have pulled one of the cables off when looking! Soldered back on and error gone away.... phew!

Did you figure out the right fuse then - I checked 66/69 and both were fine. I need to investigate further.

I did, but I can't remember off the top of my head. I basically matched that symbol on the socket in the boot with the one on the card and checked it.

Hi mark, I have the same exact issue, the sos error and charge port not working can you please help and elaborate which cable came out of where and which where did you solder. How did you reach the combo box ? Is it something very complex to take out from car dashboard ? Do i need to take it to the dealer to get it fixed ?

sos failure

Hi Guys

I had this a couple of times last week when I was installing my Alpine amplifier up grade on F32 lci.

When ever I removed the cover from above the pedals there is a cable going to the foot well lights also a cable which goes to a speaker type thing.

When I unplug the speaker thingy the SOS failure appeared.
Plugged back in and it went away.

Done this couple of times during the install and every time I unplugged it ,it came up with failure.

Not sure if you got a loose connection under there it is worth a little looky

Car was in for a service yesterday and failure of the emergency call system had come up on the key (but not the Idrive). I was told the fuse to the front power socket / cig lighter had gone and that had caused it.

Guys.
Think seriously if you have to use the SOS button.
Having used it "in anger" I'd never use it again.
It goes to the BMW call centre who then transfer you to the Emergency Services.
Fair enough, but if you don't know where you are, the Emergency Services can t triangulate your signal as your call is coming via a call centre.

Heaven forbid it happens again, I'll just use my phone thanks.
