BMW X1 shown with BMW accessories

Some more looks at the all-new BMW X1 [official thread], shown with BMW accessories. Most products are universal and therefore can be used across the BMW model range.

Sooo.... does anyone know if this will be available in only FWD form? No need for AWD here in SoCal.

Last I read it will launch as AWD-only in the USA, and then a few months later they'll add FWD-only, at which point you'll hear a great disturbance "as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror" (i.e., the conservative BMW loyalists in America).

Wow looks great. Saw the X1 and F30 LCI at a closed room event a couple of weeks back, and it's a major improvement of the old X1. Design and looks really are spot on

xDrive only please! Who wants a FWD SAV? It makes absolutely no sense. New York represent!

Since there are only the most powerful engines in the U.S. available it makes absolutely sense to just sell AWD. Otherwise you won't get any traction.
In terms of design, it is a major improvement over the old E84 X1. I like it.

In the thread I started asking when order details would be released another user states they've already received the options list and placed their order - they should know the answer! Either way, seems we're just around the corner. I'm going to guess they'll be offering both choices.

I'm in SoCal too, but will definitely be opting for the AWD option for some light-ish off road duty when hitting the desert/mountains for camping

initially the vehicle will launch only as awd, at a later point, yes there will be an S Drive (fwd) version.
