interesting dyno results 335i with additive
Hi guys wanted to share some dyno information.
The test car is our demo car here at GT PRO in Fullerton, the ONLY mod it has is the SSTT, and the flapper exhaust valve mod. The premise of this test is to do some R&D for Sport Racing Fuel's new product they are calling SURA (Sport Unleaded Racing Additive). I was instructed to take a baseline on pure 91 octane, then mix the SURA at different mix percentages to find the optimum mix value. What I came up with was a 15% 91 oct to SURA mix that yeilded an awesome 20rwhp, at 20% we saw an additional 3 rwhp, which is telling me there was nothing really left on the table, then up to 25% mix, with no more power gained. I about fell off my chair, and went back over our data and compared the test conditions to make sure this was not a *fluke*, and we were able to repeat it, so in short I'm very impressed. They have not released the product to the public yet, but I for one am excited, as I am a real sceptic when it comes to companies claiming *horsepower in a can* LOL, but this stuff really does what it is supposed to, can't wait till they start selling it. Oh, BTW: test conditions were: hood open, airbox lid on and tight, car had timed cool down for each run, temps monitored, same day within 2 hour time span to make sure temp, humidity, heatsoak etc., did not play a role in the results. |

Oh, also can you correct the numbers, and do smoothing of 5
This is what everyone else shows on dynos so you might as well match it up....

So those are the only 2 mods I have as well. I should be putting down ~300WHP as well?

any idea of the resulting octane? Any other additives in their product? I'm a fan of torco so if this is similar I'll try it. Pricing?

I can tell you this much. I don't sell snake oil, however our company has been in business for over 13 years, and I personally have been tuning cars for over 24 years, if you call around to magazines such as European Car magazine, talk to Les Bidraun, Micheal Febbo or Rob Halstrom, or call over to Eurotuner and talk to Elliot Moran, or possibly Sean Kennan, Dustin Woods, Column Wood, or Mike Maez at Modified Luxuries and Exotics, they will all vouch for my integrity and our company reputation. I don't mind a bit of fun poking, but if you're going to question the integrity or honesty of our company, I am ready to back it up with indutry leaders who know us personally and what our company stands for.

As far as the SURA, they are not selling it yet, they are still testing, the product was developed by a retired Shell oil engineer. Octane after the mix? not really sure to be honest, I'm waiting on some more data from them, I was just contracted to do the mix testing and dyno work, that's all, it was interesting, so I decided to post it up. This is a additive to regular old 91 octane fuel, their idea is to get an additive product to the market that does what it says it does at a good price to make it worth buying. Test car is a 6 speed manual. |

Seriously though, thanks for the product update. Let us know more when the company releases more details. I had great success w/ Torco w/ my modded S60R and I'd like to see something similar w/ my 335. Fun for the days when you really want to kick some ass on certain days.

LOL guys, well right now it's not for sale from what I've been told, and the formula is safe for all type of injection systems, as like I mentioned a retired Shell Oil Corp. head engineer is the chemist behind this product.
As I get more info.regarding availability, and what they are going to charge, I will pass the information along here to my "E" brothers! |

So when you say 15% SURA to 91 Octane mix are you saying in a full tank you need around 13.5 gallons 91 Octane and 2.5 gallons of this SURA stuff?
That sounds like a lot of "additive" and costly. |
