Driver assist question
How are the front distance sensors activated when parking and pulling up to a curb, or those concert parking stops?
When I pull into my garage it's a two step process. I must crank on the wheel to the right and pull up to the left of the garage door, then go back in reverse to straighten the car, then pull forward. Otherwise I might hit the left side of the garage door or the drywall trying to pull in. When I do this my back up cameras turn on (R) and when I pull forward in the garage my front distance sensors kick in. But when I'm pulling into a parking spot, where I don't need to backup, I don't hear the sensor beeping as I get close to one of those concert parking stops....why? How are these front distance sensors activated? Thx. |

You can activate the front sensors using the button or wait for them to kick on automatically based on speed. The automatic kick-on can occur fairly late in the process. On mine, they don't come on until I'm well into the yellow zone. If I wait for the automatic kick-on, I won't typically get a warning beep from a concrete parking structure until I'm under 18" away from it.
