Lapping day in the Wet in My M4
Finally got out in the wet in the M4 after a dry morning in the M4 at the Mosport DDT which is a great training track with mainly 3rd gear being used.
DRY The car is very easy to overdrive on a slower track with understeer on corner entry with great power slides on corner exit which is not the fast way but sure a hell of a lot of fun and even in 3rd gear at low revs quite easy to do The Yoko AD008R's like to driven on knives edge as they really fall off grip wise when slid compared to other tires that I have used like the RA1's & NT05's and seem like they are quite a durable tire after 5 days of use. Wet. The AD08's do not like to be slid in the wet at all as the grip falls off big time and takes a lot time to get grip back.I found that the quickest way that I found to get around was to just drive precisely on the limit correcting any slides before the yaw angles were noticeable which frankly was not a lot of fun. The engine has awesome power delivery in the rain with the power set to sport and you would never realize it is a turbo as it is easy to modulate. Overall I am still very impressed with this car and the next stop is WGI for 2 days next week! |
