Jb4 + dci, dp or cp next? 1st drive w/no misfires
I've read the other post after I seached. Just wanted to say hello as much as I wanted to ask my question. I picked up my 08 e93 2 weeks ago. Installed the jb4 and dci day 2. Any wot and it misfired and went limp. I just changed my plugs (crazy work schedule) and took my first real drive and couldn't be happier.
So what's next cp or dp, I plan to go FBO while waiting to see what turbo options are presented over the next 60 days. I'm due to have a little boy this Monday but trying to fit one more upgrade in before he arrives. Thanks in advance. |

Charge pipe! Won't gain you any power, but it'll prevent sudden bangs and tow trucks/fun drives home, if (when) the stocker breaks under higher than factory boost.
I have the ER Long, w/ Tial BOV and love it. Whichever you buy, try to get one that uses the factory C-Clip. Welcome by the way! Nice seeing another local guy on here. Congrats on the little guy!

Go with a Chargepipe, fmic than Downpipes. I would rather have taken care of heatsoak and possible cp blowing over Downpipes first

I had my DP's installed last winter, and they're definitely nice to have, but make sure you get a CP. They break often, and if you lose the C-Clip, good luck ever finding one without buying a whole OEM pipe.

Thanks for all the input, what's a good local shop. Powerhaus performance is right down the street. I'm sure I can do the cp just don't want to deal with down pipes. Ill try and work those two in first and go with the fmic a week or two after the baby.

They did a fantastic job, and were cheaper than some people doing this in their backyards i've seen. Shoot them an E-Mail or call them up. They're always going to be my "go-to" place for installs I can't tackle myself.

Charge pipe and FMIC are great to do at the same time. Downpipes will make you the most power, but and FMIC will get you reliable power and prevent a lot of power loss due to heat soak when you push the car hard.

Can confirm. Need FMIC. My timing corrections tell quite the story.
