Location of N20 Thermostat

hey guys

I have a p0597 engine check code, which is basically the engine thermostat. I've read that sometime the connector can be lose and reconnecting it might solve the problem.

However, would anyone know if the thermostat is easily accessible on the N20s and its location?

The thermostat is just above the water pump.

I just had my thermostat replaced under a recall.

Same. But I'm N26.

The N20 and N26 are the same except for added emissions on the N26.

I had it replaced under warranty

My car is just out of warranty and I had to pay almost 500 bucks to get it replaced. Really pisses me off because clearly there is a bigger issue here if so many people are having the part fail.
