E92 belt handover

The belt handover on my passanger side stopped working only two and a half weeks after getting my car

Scheduled for service, but it bugs me that I have to take a two and half week old car back for service...

Have a lot of you guys experienced problems with the belt handover?

Knock on Wood; both have worked fine so far, in fact i think the belt has only slipped off 2-3 times. I would guess just a bad motor for the passenger side or whatever drives it, shouldn't be a big deal.

they have new clips...i don't know if your car has them but i got them installed and i haven't had any problems even leaving the car outside in sub 0 temps...they deffinitly work better than before and i din't really have any issues before except they would not retract properly sometimes and get caught now that never happens... it was a recall that yu could have done if you had problems not a mandatory recall... i got it done and everything is great with them now!!!

BMW should just put the vert seats in the coupe with the integrated belts, problem solved - no cheap arm to break, belt is never in the way when people get in the back - would make perfect sense (and probably only cost a couple bucks more - especially when they have to fix all of the things that hand you the belt!

I've had no real problems with mine but my seat is far enough back that they're pretty superfluous.

Within my first couple months of ownership, that arm stopped working properly around 10 times. I managed to keep fixing it myself, and 10 months without problems. Try playing with it a little

I love the mindset of BMW versus that of, say, Daimler...whereas MB's are being stripped of their seat memories and tilting parking mirrors to help reduce complaints and improve quality ratings, BMW is installing retracting plastic ARMS for seatbelts...

I agreed with roadkillrob, belts should be integrated into the seat.

Actually, MB has had this feature on the past 2 CL generations (not the current one though), and the current CLK series.

Mine was perfect for 10mths. Never skipped a beat until my cousin came along and sat in my car & broke the clip. Must have pulled the belt plus the mechanism together and it broke. Luckily, it was replaced under warranty.

Cheers!

Was at the dealer on friday, and all they had to do to fix this problem, was doing a "software reset" No parts needed to be replaced.

So afte a "reboot" of the car, it worked again?! Hmmm ... is MS making the software for BMW now?

Mine gets stuck every couple of months or so... I just end up fixing it by pulling it all the way out, and it somehow retracts back in after time.

I fix my friend's car every couple of months too.
