Kinugawa/Kamak Turbos

Curious if anyone is using any of these turbos in a ST or TT setup. Ive used Kinugawas in the past with great results and I know they are used a lot in the Evo/STI world.

Just starting to price things out and start buying parts for my eventual top mount setup.

Chinese cast, yea? Not that there is anything inherently wrong with that.

If you want to keep the budget down i'd lean towards BW Airwerks or PTEs. The gen 2 PTEs are really strong performers and are also reasonably priced.

ive got a GTX37xxr sitting in storage i might use. Just curious about the kinugawas.

I ran a TD05 18g (maybe 16g, cant remember) on a Genesis Coupe at 25psi for awhile and it did pretty well for me

I'd imagine that 37r would spool like a dog on this motor...IIRC someone did a home brew single with a 37r and spool was rough.

I don't know much about the Kinugawas, though they do seem to be very popular in smaller housing applications for I4s.

IMO i'd sell the GTX and drop in a 6466G2. That particular turbo seems to be killer on this motor and you'll have loads of headroom. If you want to keep the insanity below 700ish WHP a 3586r is perfect. I'm in love with that turbo, but am biased
