Smart Repair from BMW
I was hoping for some advice...
Have been an avid viewer of the forum ever since placing my order and will be picking up my new car on Saturday. I was in last week sorting out the paperwork and the Finance guy was trying to sell me the SMART repair service. Is this something that many people take out? I hadn't really looked at it before but its got me thinking about every little scratch that might/could appear |

I did and the rovider is a company called SHINE.
Had cause to use them twice so far - once for alloys and once for body work. Excellent both times.

I'm not too enthralled about the quality of the repair though- I was actually going to put a thread up about it when I finally get some free time! Also, all bumpers and any plastics are excluded from policy. I'm about 50/50 on whether I would get again. Probably swaying toward not and instead would spend the money on 'venture shield' or similar as I think long term this would be a far more worthy investment (Terry 'Tengo' has this). I would get the car detailed first (GTechniq) and then have the shield put on before I did more than 100 miles. |

All bumpers excluded?!? That's like selling shoes and being told you can't wear them! I would stay away from it! |

However, if what's said above is the case and it's excluding the bumpers - then I wouldn't see any value in it. |

I had a dent on my bonnet along the crease and where there was double skin. The SMART repairer at my BMW Dealership (Berry, Chiswick) did a perfect job, but it cost me an arm and a leg. I think it was £120 incl VAT is what I paid the dealer.
