E92 320d MPG
Hello, what kind of MPG are the 320d brigade getting?
I get around 49mpg most weeks, with an equal mix of city and motorway driving, and sensible speeds. I've managed 64mpg over 640 miles, which is not as good as my E46 320d could manage - that got up to 70mpg if driven steady. Cheers

I've only done 1,800 miles so far but I am only getting 45mpg - miles short of the "official figures" but then 35 miles a day is done in stop start motorway queues.

58 mpg all A road and M roads at non peak times so no traffic and good flow.Low of 47mpg and high of 66mpg.i normally fill up with 90miles left in the range and 670 on the clock there or thereabouts. The climate makes a massive difference when on hard and hot right now to consumption.

i get around less than 200 miles a tank in my 335i
i guess thats around 18 mpg at best! to be fair though thats stop start traffic, a nasty commute into west London, if its not a traffic jam or slow driver, or cyclist not in their cycle lane, its a million speed bumps (some could be classed as a new moutain range) or pot hole (aka deep sea trench) that my m sport suspension struggles with and yes I want to get a e92 m3 in a year = crazy |

I get between 42 and 44mpg (its a 161bhp rather than 174bhp) with 30K on the clock, which I find a bit disappointing, as I use to get 32mpg out of my 530i.

It really does depend on the driving you do.
My E46 gave me about 43mpg over the last 20000 miles I had it, but would return up to 60mpg if driven sedately on the motorway.

My e46 320d Touring manual averaged around 46MPG over 50K miles with a 1000 mile round trip to Scotland giving 50MPG. The 120d has averaged over 47MPG over 15K miles. If you do a long Motorway journey at a sensible speed you can get some very high numbers, I've seen 72MPG for a 100 mile journey however as soon as you stop and then pop down the shops the next day it gets back to reality.
Regards Chris

I'm getting about 330-350 miles per tank with a daily commute into west London - M3 then start stop traffic on A316!

My e46 320D gives between 44 and 53. On a long 160 mile trip I once achieved 57.6. After 38,000 miles my average is 47mpg; I'm pleased with that.

In my E91 2.0d (just 20k now) I do a 60 mile round trip to work on open road at speeds generally between 40 - 60 MPH. For my relatively conservative driving style the car gives me approx 42 MPG which I find very disappointing. Way off advert and actually worse than my previous 3 litre Sweedish oil burner.

I've never reset the consumption since taking delivery on 4th May 2007 and it reports 42.1 mpg over 15K miles.
It did go up to 48 whilst in France on autoroutes but seems to just go down nowadays. Who cares - I've got a fuelcard - company pays. Use BP Ultimate diesel £1.18 at last fill up, Nice. |
