Hi
I was originally going to do it, and then decided not to, since most of the museum is closed for renovations till 2007. I figured i'll just wait for my next car. They also had a good flight deal that ended March 31st, which essentially gave you two tickets to Germany for free. If you like driving around Europe and are up for the adventure though, i've heard its great! Just my 2 cents. Nathan |

Since the dealers aren't selling European Delivery (ED) cars out of their allocation, arguably it's easier to negotiate on the price for an ED car. It's just extra money in the dealer's pocket at no extra cost to them. With the initial demand here so high, it may be easier to bargain the cost down with ED. But this is just theoretical, not speaking from experience.
Have you gotten all the details on ED? http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/EuropeanDelivery |

Yea, I just found that site on the ED. Its nice I can save about 3000 on the price of the car.... but I would spend that going over there probably? But like you said it may be a bargining tool with the dealer. They dont know my airline friend can get me Cheapppp tickets

Shipping charges back to the United States is included, so is 14 days of premium insurance for your travels in Europe. Its actually a pretty good deal, but its definitely not a wash, depending on how long you are in Europe, and how much extra that second ticket costs you.
Its still a great experience. I'm doing it in 2007. Nathan |

Go to edmunds.com and look at the ED thread for BMW forums. There is a TON of info there. I already have a quote at 1200 over ED invoice, which is about 4800 under U.S. MSRP. Watch out - many dealers will not give you this deal bc it cannibalizes their sales (allocations) and ED does not come out of their allocations. However, your best bet is an east coast dealer who specializes in ED and wouldn't get your sale anyway (i.e., I live in the midwest). So, they figure they'll take the 1200 rather than never have sold you something in the first place. All you have to do is "take delivery" for an hour or so, turn the car back in, and fly back. Could still net out a 3000k price savings if you're careful.

Well my big issue is that I live in Anchorage, Alaska where there is only one dealership and Im sure they are not going to hook me up with a decent price!
i wonder if I could buy it off an east coast dealer, do the ED delivery and have it shipped to my Anchorage dealer?? Im sure I could do that! Does anyone have a specific dealer that doesnt try to bone us on a new 330 |

I would see if you can get $1200 over invoice first. Shipping won't be cheap, and the dealer could charge an extra courtesy fee for having the car shipped out there.
You could try JMK, Park Avenue or Prestige. They are a few of the ones that are known to deal. |
