100% E85 + Wife?

Over the next few weeks, I will be switching up to running 100% e85. Now I also have a JB4 G5 Iso or a Procede Rev3. ive done hours and hours of research and I think I have my mind made up on which piggyback to use with a flash. That being said, what is safer to use, the JB4 w/ flash, or the Procede w/ flex fuel sensor?

I am sometimes away from home for weeks and my wife will occasionally drive my car. I can just see her putting in 91 instead of e85 one of these times, and if that happens, which one will adapt better? I know the Procede w/ flex fuel will recognize that there isnt e85, but will the JB4 recognize it as well? And either way, will they adapt quick enough/ or enough that it wont screw everything up?

And getting her to change the map or anything like that isnt going to work. Its hard enough trying to tell her how to program the radio buttons...

I dont want to start a Procede vs JB4 war, or a customer service/support debate, just which one is dumb wife proof.

There are a lot of Vishnu haters on here so I'm probably going against the grain but I'd probably stay with the procede because of the flex fuel sensor, it's more "wife proof", IMO.

Thanks, kind of what I was thinking.

Also want to add that I will also be running 100% meth as well. However, I will make sure this is off while I am gone. But for while Im driving it, integrating the meth and e85 will be needed.

yeah, why not run the JB4, and drain the tank and switch maps before you leave? Then she could just fill up with 91 as normal.

If im going to be gone, i usually find out at about 8pm on a Sunday night. If I have advance notice, sure, but usually wont have time to run it out of fuel.

procede is dead... stay with jb4/BMS
Fuel-it is doing full custom lines/low pressure pump and sensor integrated to jb4

Ah, that's a tough one. I usually tend to fill up on Sunday nights anyways. Maybe you could try doing the same? I know not much help, sorry man.

from my understanding even switching maps really isn't enough if you have a back end that is truly made to make the most power out of 100% E85.

I wanted to have an option for a similar type of setup, basically jb4 and backend 60% or so e85 map, but then have the ability to switch to 93 oct. on the fly, I was told the only relatively safe way to do this is to run map4 (stock boost) until could flash a pump gas backend back to the car.

I really don't know if there there is enough fuel trim ability in any jb4 setup to be able to run 100% e85 and revert back to pump gas by just changing a map and not reflashing the DME. maybe im wrong, but I would like to know as well.

I wish there was an easy/quick way with jb4 to make good power on both strong e85 and pump gas with just a map change, but I think the is unlikely at this time as timing and fuel concentration is much different between both.

The best option for me is to keep a cheap android tablet and the the MHD flasher and it says you can do 2 minute backend changes after the first flash, that way if you were to get stuck with no e85 then you could flash back a pump gas backend and not have to go to totally stock boost levels. not that I would mind just driving it at stock boost level until I got e85, but I was still under the impression it wouldn't be a good idea to push it even at stock boost levels with a race backend and no e85 gas

The solution is MHD Flasher. You can run a custom E85 flash, then when you wanna flash the DME back to a pump flash, hook it up and reflash to a pump backend in two minutes flat

Will she be driving the car long distances? Because if not, you could just show her your local e85 station that you fill up with and tell her that the car only takes e85 otherwise it goes kaboom (it won't go kaboom but she might believe you and follow what you say)

I have e85 stations right by both my houses, and you would think it would be hard to figure out, but

Also got an interesting email last night regarding this from one of the vendors with products and the JB4 is what I am going to be using.

You might consider some warning stickers on the car, especially on the fuel cap. maybe Plastidip it yellow and mark "E85 only"? that should hopefully get her attention.

Or just keep it filled and tell her not to top it off. I don't think she'd mind that.
