228i coded M3 and M235i sounds

My first success after dipping my toes into coding. I changed ASD parameters in my 228i (2015 February build).

The first video is M3 sound, with Model Range = F80 and Engine = S55.
It's too loud for my taste, and wouldn't use it for daily driving.

The second video is M235i sound, with Model Range = "F22 with N55" and Engine = N55, and Power Level = Stereo (default was Hifi)
I quite like this config, because you get the classic 6 cylinder sound, plus it only gets loud in Sport mode. Pretty good for daily driving.

I will continue to experiment with different engine options. Tried the F10 range as well but no sound.

Weird. I don't think my 235i sounds like that on your second video

I have my 228 set with the n55 ASD. Love it. Makes the car so much more enjoyable especially with my 6 speed. It complements the MPE perfectly and sounds so natural.

Well, ASD really meant to augment the real engine's sound, so this is only half of what you'd hear in a real 235. I wish there was a way to go deep into tweaking the synthesizer.

If the sound level was still on HiFi you would get the same sound, just quieter?

Yes.
(I have since changed it back to hifi, for that reason. It's perfect now.)

There are so many options here that it would take most of a day to try all the combinations available.
Anyone know if there are any resources online to be able to listen to them all?

BTW I set mine to F80 and N55B30 last night and got to hear it today on the way to work.. I hate it. Sounds like something is really wrong

try the sound level setting... the hi-fi, top-hi etc... the others don't think have much effect

Actually, hate is a strong work. For normal driving, it's too loud and brash.
But... For Redlining and high rpm, it sounds incredible.

Too bad it wasn't easier/quicker to toggle through all the different ones.
Does anyone know if the same engine but different chassis makes any diff? There are a lot of combinations to try out if thats a factor.

I think I set mine to hi fi

I recently just ordered the OBD2 cable.

I know you need the e-sys program, but does anyone have the files for the F80/F82 and can someone explain step by step where I can get the sound file and how can I change the sound? I really love the F80 sound I love the deeper sound and would like to test it out.

Here is a quick video I made of my 2015 228i with the M4 ASD. The GoPro captured the sound pretty well, however, I'd say it's only about 90% true to what it sounds like in person. Watch in 1080p.
