Track night vs 2014 tuned 5.0

Go pro battery went dead buddy got this poor iphone vid so all I got. He has another race vid waiting for him to email will post soon

Back story showed up to the track late was in staging lanes saw this 5.0 driver came with a couple of other 5.0's he said he was tuned and had more done than the others so i asked if he wanted to do a run. On this run I ran 11.52 @123.7 1.87 60ft 98.3 mph in the 1/8th.

I got 3 runs in consistent all 11.5's @ 123 and a 124. I had easily 2 buses on him and pulling.

Nice runs for sure, but he clearly bogged off the line. 2 buses on 1/4 mile is the difference between a 12 second and 14 second car. I know the 5.0 aren't that slow...would have been a good race if he could have gotten a good launch.

am I missing something here. RB turbo'd 335 is "post to be" faster than a bolt on/tuned Coyote. That's more in the realm of FBO/ethanol stock turbos competition. 125 mph your competition should be forced inducted or heavily modified GTs (heads, cams, built etc).

Surprised at the very small improvement in your times from stock to RB's. Also noticed your 60ft was faster with stock turbos, is this due to lag of larger turbos? 11.5 on stock snails is very impressive!

I needed everything to go right on stock turbos for the 11.5-11.6 runs with RBs that is the norm. On stock turbos I would say I averaged trapped speds of 117, on RBs I average 123, so the improvement is definitely there but its more on the top side i would say. Its evident when you are past the 1/8th mile at how the car seems to open up more, and pull away.

Thanks man.....looking to upgrade my stock snails and I am only at 12.0! Trying to get an idea of what I can expect!
