N54 mods: jb4, DCI, Catless dps and muffler delete on 91 octane
Wanted to see what you guys think of my setup as I feel that my car is a bit slow these days.. I'm averaging 13psi of boost and I'm not sure if this is what I should be expecting or if I should start looking into testing my boost pressure in case there's a leak somewhere.
Hauls a** even with the 13psi but can definitely breath better with an Ic . |

I dont understand what your asking.
youre boosting 13 psi. on what map? have you changed maps that target different psi? or are you boosting 13 on autotune map? anywho, 13 psi seems on target for 91 octane. Logs will tell you alot, and change your gauge hijack to show target boost. Try to find e85

I get 13psi on both map2 and 5. No E85 unfortunately.. At least not close. I'm gonna do some pulls tonight and post the logs. I know 91 octane is not great but still I think I can get more from the mods I have.

So obviously with my great luck with this car .. I go to do a couple pulls on the hwy to get proper logs, my charge pipe breaks at the tb. So I'll post some logs when I get my aftermarket cp.

OP Canada gas sucks, plain and simple... I am dealing with it as I have 11 map revisions with BuraQ as each tank i get is different. Check Vancouver GTR club forums, our gas sucks... so lame for us. You might have 94 from a company other than cheveron, in fact look to see if petrocanada in Winnipeg has 94 with ethonal... that will be very solid for the JB4... ethanol is great for higher boost maps. BC is ethanol free still so Im pulling my hair out here.. I was using 94 cherveron for a year plus straight thinking its the best. Apparently i had one tank that didnt even match 91 octane in the states. pulling timing like crazy on a mild 91 map. Just logging shell 91 now so we will see. GL re the CP.

Money says your charge pipe developed a leak over time and it finally gave way on the WOT pulls. Good luck with the new install man!

And for the Cp. I tought the same thing when it blew out .. There was litterally 2 little chunks left in the connection .. It must've had a crack in there and a couple 3-4 gear pulls just ended it. I'll keep u guys posted after I get my cp in and installed. |

Get that aftermarket CP on + BOV/forged DV's and get an upgraded FMIC (the stock one heat soaks @ factory boost levels... it's shit...) Do the JB4 DME back-end flash (it makes a huge difference) And most importantly - switch to strictly Petro Canada 94 Octane. trust me, big improvements to be had, car pulls like a freight train now and feels much better into the upper RPM's. I am now hitting 15-16psi regularly. Next week I am building my custom upgraded inlet kit. that would be the next step.. |

I just stacked jb4 on dinan stage 2. I'm hitting 14-15 psi on map 1 and 5 with petro 94.
I'm getting occasional 30ff low boost codes, that i'm fairly certain is wastegate related. If I set fud to 99, and manually set the wastegate adjustments, its fine. map 5 over rides this and adapts wastegate position values to high numbers, causing low boost codes. |

So after a long break.. The Car is back stronger than ever
While waiting on my vrsf charge pipe i decided to get the serpentine belt and all the pulleys replaced ( upper idler and lower, alternator pulley and tensionner ) and the oil cooler gasket that was making a mess in the front side on the engine + all the vaccum lines. i put everything back together and updtaed my Jb4 to the 29 version and hoooollyyyyyy the car pulls strong.. the throttle response is a sh*t load better and im boosting in the 16-17 psi range with map5 on 94 gas. Super pumped that its back to beast mode. So after all i gess my charge pipe had a minor leak that wasnt noticable. Thanks to everyone for the inputs and i hope this report helps people in the future! |
