Share the secrets of the 335D

What features have you found which are hidden in the depths of the user manual?

The user manual is typically found in the glove compartment or boot. Normally unopened, the user manual is often the last place one looks to understand how a particular feature functions.

Many years can pass without the "user" understanding how to activate even the simplest "feature"

In my experience, the only time the user manual is referred to is within the comment "Read the F******* Manual" at which point its often too late.

I don't bother with the manual but try to learn about the car when sitting in traffic jams. That way it gives you something to do while you are doing nothing else.

There was a whole thread on this some time last year, but I can't find it.

One useful "trick" I learned from that thread is that after you've turn off the engine (e.g. at petrol station) and you realise you need the odometer reading to pay with your fuel card, you don't have to insert the key to turn on the ignition, you can just press the little black button (the one that resets the trip counter) and the odo mileage is displayed.

From THAT thread, hilarious:

Quote:
Try this: get in car and place key fob into the slot, start engine with key fob in slot, turn off engine, take key fob out of slot and press the start engine button without the key fob in slot. You have to do it real quick, it gives you 15-30 seconds to restart the engine after you take the key fob out.

Dont know what was the reason for this. Give it a try.

mikem It`s so that you can give your keys to the officer and then still run him over.
