So effing fed up. 2013 335is not connecting with key fob.

My 2013 335is is not connecting with the key fob. This is the same exact shit that nearly cost my child her life in February. (I cant get in to that) But I'm fed up with this car.

It's doing this all the time now. Battery after battery has been changed. Two batteries in a month and it still is doing this? It cant be the battery at this point.

The WHOLE point of CA is so that I dont have to waist time digging to find my key to start to the car. AND it STILL doesnt work even when the key is put in the ignition. Yesterday I go to start the car, it wont. You can CLEARLY see the key is in range. TODAY I went to grab lunch, my attorney hopped out to pick it up, the car was never turned off and when she opened the door to get back in, the message popped up that engine start is not possible, key is not in range. The car was ON!!!!

Ugh...the car is not communicating with the keys at all..thoughts?

Is it the original Key Fob? My E90 CA went batshit two years back over a similar issue, it just wouldn't recognize the key. Ended up replacing the key fob, it worked for about 2 months, then went haywire again. Sold it and never looked back.

Seriously kid, go get a drink. Sounds like you are having a rough day.

Wish I could help ya more, but i'm on the other end of the country...Seriously, just go to the pool or something. Get your mind off this stuff for one day. Comfort Access problems can wait.

I'd lean towards a communication issue with the keyfob, but electronics are over my head.

If your worse problem is you live in sunny california, with a 2013 335is, alive and well, and able to get lunch...

I'd love to have your problems, want to trade?

I bet a new key fob would fix the issue.. onto the dealership!!!

It's crap like this that made me intentionally avoid CA.

If it makes you feel better it doesn't work right on other cars that implore the same technology

There really isn't MUCH to fix. Look at the trouble shooting threads about CA. The system is just glitchy and has a hard time detecting the key.

...it worked great, right up to the day I sold it (last month). I had to replace a battery or two over the years, but it never failed me.

My '11 335i has CA too, and it's working great. You need to get to the dealer and make them replace it. There's no reason to pay for something that doesn't work properly...like my navigation.

And one more thing; if that avatar is a picture of you, I'll have to make a personal visit to help with this problem.

Have you thought about taking it in to a dealership to get looked at, instead of askng a bunch of internet pricks that will tell you why they didn't move or want to live in California?

I think you should speak to your attorney about the potentially dangerous car BMW has sold you.

I don't think mechanics are very good at sort of this thing. This is more of a computer and networking problem than a turn a wrench problem.

Since its 2013, I assume it's under manufacturer's warranty. Take that shit back. You're paying for it. now use it.
And I think this can be considered a safety hazard (from your first sentence), meaning this can potentially fall under the lemon law!! If you take your car back for the same incident 3 times OR if the shop has your car for more than [I believe] 60 days, under the california law, they have to buy back the car from you.
I would also contact a lemon law attorney for guidance. A lot of them give out free consultations and can tell you right over the phone whether or not you have a good case. Best part is, for most lemon law cases, you don't even pay out of pocket. The lawyers charge the car manufacturers for their time!!

Look into it because it sounds like you have a really good case.

Best luck.
