wtd: Alpine MRP-m350 monobloc and Earthquake SWS8 or similar

Hey guys,

Looking to expand on my Alpine retrofit by fitting some better subs, and thus need an amp too as the alpine PDA-F200 can't drive decent subs.

The MRP-m350 looks perfect to drive the earthquakes, and the earthquakes look like the best option.

I'm open to alternatives such as gladen too? or other monoblocs?

Thanks,

Tom.

Interested to know what you go with mate. How will you feed the signal to the new sub-amp? Will you just nick the hi-line feed from the alpine harness and use a Hi to Low converter so there's an RCA?

you are better off getting a 2 channel amp to drive the earthquakes as opposed to a monobloc, make them ur midbass drivers as they are better at that job than as a sub.

i actually got a good deal on some L7 subs so just went with that for now, makes a big difference though still not perfect....mainly in that there is a big "hole" in the mids (obviously changing the subs was never going to fix this though!)

I've done the same as you rG-tom. The L7 Subs make a good difference to the sound. I'm hoping to fill that 'hole' tomorrow by replacing the Alpine Amp with a JL HX280/4 and a set of Focul KRS100 components.

We'll see.
