iPod connection
Just got a 330i MSport with iDrive/blue tooth etc, but want to know why when I plug my iPod in to the Aux port that no playlists are displayed on the iDrive screen and I am unable to control the iPod, apart from the volume, from either the iDrive interface or steering wheel buttons. I think I'm propably just being dum, but any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

what sort of cable are you using?
If it's the regular iPod to USB that came with the iPod, and that you use on a PC, then it's no good in the Beemer. You need part number 51 16 9 148 062 Which for 40 ish pounds gets you a special BMW iPod Cable with a small Dongle half way down the cable with two break out cables. One USB which is the index and control and a Phono jack which is the sound and runs into the Aux input. Hope this helps SJ |

You don't mention if you have the 6FL option. You must have this, and the cable that James references to use an iPod via iDrive properly.

Aux, is only that, an auxiliary sound input. To actually control the ipod you need the aforementioned 6FL factory fitted option.
