Cold air intakes?

What setup do you run? Any specific recommendations for a 06 325

There's not a lot to be gained with a CAI on the 325. You might want to throw a good drop-in filter, and look into the 330i intake manifold.

You *DO* know that the BMW OEM intake *IS* a cold air intake, right?
Cone filters/aftermarket intakes really only make more noise, in some cases they turn into Hot Air Intakes, and in many cases cause problems with the air metering system (MAF).

Real gains seen on the N54.

Waste of money on this 325 in question.

Not much in the way of gains even on the N54. More noise than anything.

AFE Stage2Si. No issues ever and has been proven to increase power slightly.

10-15RWHP seems to be the number on a N54 with a tune. Good gains for an item that's very easy to find used in the $50 shipped range.

Those are some very generous numbers. Honestly I haven't seen any dynos for a tuned n54/n55 without intake and then with intake. Most numbers on this forum are estimates.

I got the sealed aFe intake for the N55. I like it. Adds a nice turbo spooling sound without heat soak. Don't know if it adds anything else

3%-5% is not generous. That is just the gain in spite of less filtration and more risk of contamination with elements. I heard 10, that is generous.

AFE SI and Dinan are the only real gainers. A 330i intake manifold would cost about the same and make substantially more power.

I run an injen intake on my 2009 328 and i dont think it adds power so much as adds a lot of noise. I personally like the noise now so its worth it to me

I use an AFE and gains if any, shit man, I can't tell, but hey it looks cool and sounds cooler. Just keep the filter clean or do like I did and get a second filter if you go this route, that way you always have a clean one ready. As far as the MAF sensor goes, you can buy a sensor cleaner. I clean that thing off like every six months. Do what your heart tells you man and good luck.
