!!2011 335 xi coupe!! Warranty ??
I bought my 2011 335 xi e92 couple weeks ago, went to dealer for inspection and everythings good. I really enjoy driving it. But the warranty is gonna expired and I know it's pricey to repair, it's now 57k mileage and I drive 8k-10k each year. replacing wheels and exhaust is all modification I want to do.
What is the most affordable way to go? extend warranty with BMW dealer? How much do you guys get for that? Thx!!!! |

I would definitely recommend the extended warranty if you have the money laying around. Remember that you can shop around to different dealerships for pricing. Jeff Steel at Passport BMW seems to have the lowest prices.

From 57K to about 80K, usually the only thing that goes wrong for most folks is a water pump and a thermostat. Price those two things out at your local dealer, and compare what you would pay for ANY 'extended warranty', to compare the 'value' of extended warranty vs. the 'value' of putting $100 away each month for the next year to pay for the thermostat and water pump replacement.
Yes, your car about due for a walnut blast, but I don't think extended warranties cover such 'normal maintenance' (for 335i) items! |

3rd Party Coverage
A third party extended warranty does not provide new OEM components, they reserve the right to provide "like" components. This means used or salvage vehicle parts. For those outside of the original 4yr/50k original factory warranty, I would rank Fidelity first and route 66 a distant 2nd as Fidelity does pay the full labor rates and provide new component parts nationwide. Fidelity is the actual underwriter for the original factory warranty of every Volkswagen and Audi in the united States. We should all do our due diligence, however I felt that I share reality. www.fidelitywarrantyservices.com -MrAwesome

My car currently has 46k miles and so far I had the following work done while under warranty.
HPFP water pump lower control arms front rotors (all pads) front differential was replaced because of small leak but it seemed like it was due to some fuck up at the dealership spark plugs Oil filter housing gasket Not too worried about warranty though my friend is a mechanic with almost 18 years experience on EU cars. As far as walnut blasting goes, he checked out my valves because I had him do my OFHG. This was about 2k miles and my valves where clean. The issue with valves is more of a N54 thing.. N55 should be good probably for about 80k-100k miles before blasting. |

i recommend getting the extended warranty on these BMWs. Everything is so expensive to fix if you cant/dont want to do it yourself.
I bought my car with 18k miles on it 1.5yrs ago. Paid $3500 for 3yr 36k mile warranty that covers everything from drivetrain to electrical to basically anything you can think of minus wear and tear. They will also get me a rental if the dealership wont give me a loaner. Since I bought it, Ive had the following done: Rear Taillight Malfunction - Dealer invoice $1700 - Paid for by warranty Rear Window Regulator Failure - Dealer invoice $750 - Paid for by warranty Front Headlight Malfunction - Dealer Invoice $2300 - Paid for by warranty HPFP and LPFP Malfunction - Dealer Invoice $1900 - Paid for by warranty TPMS Malfunction - Dealer Invoice $1000 - Paid for by warranty My warranty is through Warranty One I think is the name of them. |

Rear Window Regulator Failure - Dealer invoice $750 - Paid for by warranty Good God.. The window regulator is about is about $100 and the DYI time for a noob doing the install is about 2 hours. A trained mechanic can do it in under 40min. Now that price is some serious raping. |

yeah dealer loves to price gouge.
i had to actually pull the door apart and remove the regulator so i could get the window up over the weekend during the rain. Took me 30-45 minutes to get it all apart and back together. Dealer charged 4hrs of labor... |
