They should just slide on/off with the help of a rubber mallet. No sawing or welding required.

1) Wait until the car has cooled down 2) bang on the back of one stock chrome tip with the mallet with moderate force until they start to slip toward you. Then grab said tip and pull off. 3) Repeat 2) 4) Starting with left pipe, push on new OEM tip until you feel it stop 5) Hit new OEM tip with mallet with light-to-moderate force to seat new tip's retaining clips and make tip's outer roll flush with end of pipe 6) Repeat 4) and 5) for right pipe Done.

A friend wants to install M Performance tips to the stock muffler of a M140i. Do you know if those tips fit the stock muffler ?? Can you remove the stock black tips without damaging them ? |

I can't answer that question. Only someone who has retrofitted M Performance tips to a stock exhaust can. That said, I'm fairly certain that the pipe diameter between OEM and M Performance differs by at least a half inch, so it's probably not possible without welding.

I just had my Dinan exhaust installed with black tips on my 228ix. I am selling the Turner Motorsport black tips (5 months old) in new condition for 1/2 price if anyone is interested.
