LCI F30 article on Drive.com.au

http://m.drive.com.au/motor-news/bmw...07-ggvyg4.html

The article interestingly quotes the 340i with the b58 engine as having a combined consumption of 6.8L/100km. If that's true I'll be very happy given the LCT threshold.

I know. The article is from an Australian publisher and I doubt the rest of the world understands how consumption affects how much we pay. This is why I chose to post it here.

Potentially if the 340i can use the $75,000 LCT threshold then on paper the car can be sold for around $6k cheaper. Might help the ridiculous pricing and sell a few more. I have probably seen 3 F30 335i in the last 3 years, assuming it wasn't the same car I saw 3 times.

How long before the government works out they're losing revenue and adjusts their "fuel efficient" definitions...

Pretty impressive numbers for the 340i.

It isn't really a loophole. It is a deliberate policy to encourage more fuel efficient car (at least on the test cycles) on the market. So one would hope not.

But then given the current budget deficit, who knows?
