Halo Light Problem
Need advice... I have a 2011 BMW 335i and recently changed my daytime running light bulb from an original bulb to a LED bulb. It was simple enough, I opened the cover cap and twisted the original bulb out of the socket and replaced the bulb with the new LED, I then twisted the bulb back into place. now only the inner halo lights up on both sides. Have I missed something??

Step back from the car 20-30 feet and look at the rings again and see if that helps. The outer rings are only visible if you look at them from head on.

Thank you for the help! I have installed Lumen PLH8CW Plazma series Replacement LED Bukb (H8, white) Its description is 5-LED bulb, 420 Lumen, 360 degree light, 5500k color temp. The inner halo is as bright as ever but the outer halo does not illuminate at all (left and right headlight). And I tried to place the original bulb back in and now the outer halo does not illuminate with the original either. I was wondering if there is some computer set up that I have missed since the bulb harness has only one way in because it is a 3 sided key entry. Cant install it wrong...

I would also think that your issue is mostly a dimmer bulb. Most of my experiences with LED replacement bulbs have been that they are whiter/bluer in color, but far dimmer than the halogen bulb used in the same place.
The '11 stock angel eye is a halogen light source with a fiber optic ring with cuts / slots to allow light to escape. |

with the way the lights are designed you will always get a brighter inner ring ( OEM or aftermarket). If you get a quality LED kit, it will be much brighter but there is no fix for getting equal brightness on both rings except custom headlights. Since you are in Vegas, i can show you my car with custom headlights, i also have an LED kit for comparison.

does wattage matter, everyone says anything above the stock 35w is bad and might be harmful. Whats the wattage on the lux v8? |

It matters, but standard products are not going ot give you major issues. Go with those that have been successfully used by others.

Our current LUX H8 V5 and LUX H8 160 lights are rated as the halogen equivalent output of 120w and 160 w however they draw less then 10 actual watts of power.
