330i rear windows won't go up...but do
Hey there
I've searched for this issue and can't find anything with my exact issue. I have a 06 330i and whenever I put either one of my rear windows all the way down, it will not go back up. I've found threads that say it's a regulator issue, but, if I turn the car off, wait about 5 seconds, turn the car On (i leave the fob in) the windows will go back up. When I put them down and try to put them back up, they attempt (they go up maybe a couple mm), but immediately go back down. It's almost like a sensor is stopping it? I can put the windows 99% down and have zero issues putting them back up. It's only if they go down 100%. Any info would appreciated |

I have the same problem. I haven't solved it yet. I tried the reset procedure and that didn't fix it. I think it might be the anti trap protection kicking in. Maybe the motors are drawing too much current. We might need new motors but that's just a guess. I'd love to know for sure, but have a few other fixes to do before I get to this. If someone solves this please let us know!

so, my findings....
rear driver side -- manual down -- attempting manual up fails the first time, second time goes up. Repeated 5 times, same thing every time. rear passenger -- manual down -- attempting manual up fails, no matter how many times....and now it won't go back up lol. even if I turn the car off/on...going to let it sit while I cut the grass and then see if it will go back up. I also believe what stewy said, might be some sort of anti-trap issue....but what do I know lol. |

*sigh* i'd take it to the dealership, but this issue, driver side halo/daytime runner just died about 3 weeks ago, engine fan goes insane loud sometimes (yet another turn the car off/on and issue goes away), and a hug paint issue on the roof......why bother lol. 140K+ so...can't really complain all that much. |

I am in the same boat.
But my issue is only when the temp is child outside. As for attempting it after a short break......dont know. But I just keep Trying again and again and even eventually it will go up. For me the issue started this last winter on a very cold morning. DN |

Sorry to hear about the other problems. It's weird that it affects the rear windows. Maybe a different motor back there with a flaw that we are all hitting? Mine is an 06 also. Maybe it was a bad batch? Or maybe a software/module problem with the early cars. With most issues there seems to be well documented fixes, but not this one.

Same shit with my 06 330xi. I just changed the regulator on my rear driver side. When I put that window all the way up using the auto click it reaches the top and then goes back down to half way. I think my issue is the anti trap function. Idk

If it's bouncing at the top that might be a different problem. Try the reset procedure. I think you need to run the window all the way down and all the way up a couple of times, holding the button for 10s at the bottom and the top each time.

Koches issue sounds relevant, "When I put that window all the way up using the auto click it reaches the top and then goes back down to half way. I think my issue is the anti trap function."
I offered a means of defeating protection that would cause window to lower itself! "Closing without pinch protection |

try inching it up from bottom.
push the window switch for half a second couple of times and than go all the way up. I had the same issue after I replaced the window regulator with an aftermarket one from amazon. |

On that note, it's sunny again after a few showers. That should help the window come up, I guess. |

Same problem here thought it was just mine. Replaced both regulators since they broke at different times. Never even used them. But now I just make sure I don't roll down all the way or it will never go back up. Getting good at taking door panel off though!
