E90 Pre-LCI Xenon Bulb Replacements

Hi,

I have a 2007 335i with what I believe to be the original Xenon bulbs. I bought it used in 2009 and have not replaced either one. A few days ago one of them started turning pink, and has gotten a bit dim, so I'm assuming this means it's time for a replacement.

Searched around but couldn't find a consensus, and quite honestly all the new lighting tech confuses me, I don't really keep up. My angel eyes were replaced with MTEC V.4s when one of those bulbs went out, so I'm looking for a simple replacement that might match the color decently. What are people using? Is the replacement an easy DIY? Thanks!

I'm using Morimoto XB D1S 5500K. They're comparable to the Osram CBI in terms of output at a fraction of the price.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Is there a preferred vendor for them or does it really matter? I ordered my AEs from e92-lighting and they seemed fine.
