I just purchased a 2008 328i E90 with 83k miles and decided to purchase the Ultimate Value package (24 months / unlimited miles - $1,049) from C.A.R.S. Protection Plus. I'll be filing a claim soon (alternator), so I'll let you know how that goes.

Not yet. I'll make sure and post my experience when I do.

Warranty Claim

I took my 2008 328i in for a noise coming from the front. I had my front wheel bearings replaced and they were covered under warranty. I ended up paying $230 out of pocket ($100 deductible and $130 for difference in price of parts) and the warranty covered the rest. The SA said CARS was easy to deal with. Just make sure and follow the CARS claim procedure.
