Rear Bumper: Sedan vs Convertible
I have a 07 e93 convertible and need a new rear bumper cover. I'm willing to use a cheaper aftermarket cover.
It seems not all e9x (not turbo or M), use the same bumper. Sedan is a different part number (51127141053) than the coupe/convertible (51127161490). What's the difference? I can easily find aftermarket bumper covers for the sedan for about $140 vs $400 for OEM. But there does not seem to be any aftermarket replacements for the coupe/convertible 51127161490. Has anyone fitted an aftermarket rear bumper cover to their e93 convertible? Where did you get it? Will a bumper off of a sedan fit a convertible? (you know because you've done it) |

The sedan is a whole different shape than the coupe/convertible.....that's why they use different bumpers....
So no, sedan and coupe bumpers are not interchangeable. Coupe and convertible are the same though.
