Rear entertainment

2 questions.
1. Has anyone had a tough time figuring out the rear entertainment system with the remote control? I can not seem to get the volume to come through the the speakers for my little guys when playing a dvd. Do the rear passengers need headphones? Does the truck come with headphones?
2. Does anyone know if there is a way to remove one of the rear screens? My little guy is still facing backwards in a car seat and the passenger seat would have more room if I could take that tv out for a few months (until the car seat gets turned around). Let me know.

Headphones aren't included. This boggles my mind. But wireless ones are an option.

Did you try setting the source from the front iDrive screen?

And the screens cannot be removed.

I did set the source from the front screen. I got the dvd to the turn on and get to the main but then I had to open the back door and use the remote to get the dvd to play.

for e70, you gotta read pg 212 in the manual. I just checked mine out for the first time tonight.

First you have to "Allow rear control" for the DVD to be active,
then you need to go into the External Devices menu and turn the volume up.

It is not intuitive, why would the built in player be an "external device"?

What I want to know is, if I get headphones for the kids (wired or infrared), can I play different music up front while they enjoy the DVD with their phones?

More Info

I realize I am posting on the wrong generation, but I found a great link for e70 model Rear Entertainment:
RSE.pdf

Turns out I CAN play different source on the radio while the kids watch the rear DVD, long as they are using headphones.

Oddly enough, this document does state near the end that Infrared headphones come with this option... But I didn't get any, and WDimagineer above seems to confirm that.

Does the 2015 x5m come with headphones? If it does, I have not found them.
