Can JB4 cause thermostat to fail?

I took my car in for routine water pump and thermostat replacement around 43k miles. The shopthat handles my car is top notch and owner is extremely competent. When I got my car home, 50 mile drive, after the repairs I checked the codes and the thermostat code came backbut no SES light. I notified the shop and the owner. He was surprised and said to keep n eye on it. Ended up taking it in for warranty replacement a month later. Now the car has 53k miles on it and up until this past week the thermostat would cause the SES light to come on once every two or three weeks at which point I'd clear it and carry on. However, for the past week it comes on every time I drive it and always around 210-220F. The shop owner says that I am the only person that he has had to replace a replacement thermostat under warranty. He thinks the jb4 could be causing it and wants to take it out to see if it continues. I have complete confidence in him. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this same issue.

I hate this. After having it tuned for a year, I wouldn't even want the car if I had to drive it stock. If I have to remove the jb4 permenantly I'm going to sell it. I'm going to email Terry tomorrow to get his input as well.

All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When my Tstat went bad it was stuck open and would just run cooler than normal and throw the P code for coolant temp below normal.
I'd say if you keep clearing the code and it keeps coming back then def bad stat

coincidence

mine's gone now too, but I realized I had a water pump replaced under warranty... I'm sure they just reused the thermostat, so now I get to dig back in there :/
