Put it this way. I am really happy I got the R in place of the BMW. Yes, I do love the R for what it is and what it does but falling in love with it is too much to ask for now. I still have the use of a BMW 330d M Sport in Mineral Grey with Coral Red Leather, so BMW still runs through my veins. Was I in love with my Superman? Perhaps, but with the passage of time I cannot truly be categorical as I am unable re-call..

This is for another R forum member who was sold a damaged R and has rejected it. Bad business practice by the dealer. The car was in a shunt in transit from Germany and they tried to cover it up. It was only after he drove it home he noticed paint flaking from the rear bumper, the front wings were badly aligned to the A-Pillars, the front spoiler lip had damaged trim replaced very shoddily and the rear bumper was pushed in from the shunt.

It is a 5-6 month wait for an R, he is at present carless, so he is looking at an RS3 (4 month wait) or a BMW 335d xDrive. I've told him to go BMW. Where he lives he needs 4WD.

I had that with an Audi A4 Black Edition.

Had been involved in a post build dunsh.

It went back after a very short time lol and some solicitor correspondences.

Hi F30AM, don't forget to give your R forum colleague TRL's details. He provides a great service and a very, very keen price.

I have. Top bloke. Have given both his email and phone no.

The R forum member is now carless. I would have thought in order to get some repeat business the Dodgy Dealer would have allowed him to use the car until his new order arrived. The poor guy was distraught as they wanted to keep £2500 as his car was now 2nd hand. He has only driven it to and from the dealer and was terrified to use it in case they blamed him for the damage. It also had some paint defects. It was an Oryx White R. Oryx White is a £900 paint option.

And I have just heard my brilliant and amazing Fleet Sales Manager has left West London VW as he wishes to be a house husband. His wife is a barrater.

Sounds like a trading standards visit is overdue at the dealer in question....

This sort of thing you might expect from some dodgy second hand car place but from a main dealer?

Have you got it re-mapped??

I drove an APR stage 1 car last weekend....a friend of mine..,manual box....different fuel programmes...95 / 98 / 102 RON fuel options via cruise control......very very rapid, smooth and OE in its feel......I think his is running 380 on 98!!

I expect it will shock many on a twisty 'wet' road!!
