Disa Valaves
I got a call from the shop that was installing the manifold and they said that without a tune one of the disa valves would stay shut? which would create problems. Just wanted some information on this. Thanks.

Yeah, I plan on getting the tune. The install hit the bank hard though, and it didn't help that I broke a couple parts. So I'm looking 1300 for it all to get done :/

Drive up to Bellingham and I'll fix it for you.
the default setting limits you to the 1st stage. the 2nd stage never activates. BMW could have programmed it to "just work" but I think they knew people would figure out that it could be retrofitted on the lesser models. It won't cause any problems other than limited power. also, the stock 325 tune limits intake valve lift and runs leaner at full load. is your DME software up to date? I don't have any tools to install somebody else's tune but I could flash your DME if you brought it up here.
I've been thinking more and more about putting the 3 stage in our touring as well. the 330i is just so much easier to drive lazily while still moving along at a nice clip. |

yeah, let me know - I probably won't be available for a few weeks though unless you came up on this Friday or Saturday morning. I'm doing a half marathon on Sunday and we leave for vacation the week after that. it should drive just fine until you got a flash, it just won't run at full potential.

take it to Carb Connection in Kirkland. Then it will be the exact same dyno - same place I've been going for years.
but that will erase all of his cost savings. lol |

a couple pulls is probably $150 or so, you'd have to call them to ask. an hour was around $300 but a baseline isn't going to take all that long (strap the car down, 3 pulls, and done). they aren't open on Sunday or Monday.
as I'm not a "vendor" I don't think I can really talk about charging people money for a service here. but it would probably be worth your time if it's worth mine.. |
