I've been told there are no upcoming changes for 2016.
However... I have no reason to believe that the person was at liberty to speak freely. Internet Rumors suggest addition of another color.

If 2016s start delivering in Nov then the 2015 model year will have run 8 months...but the 2014 model only ran for 6 months so you never know.

I've got the red (orange on HUD) car that pops up when the car thinks I am going to smash into the car in front of me. Is that the same thing?

But on the Driver's Assist Pack the car will initiate some (not total) braking if you don't - not just a visual warning. That said the fact that it can tell you're nearing a car means it has a sensor looking in front. |

1) I am not sure I ever want to test the system to see if it "works." 2) I am not sure I ever want to find out if the system triggers falsly, because I have to tell you there are times when the warning pops up red and angry, and there is just a truck on the other side of the road passing. If it decided to break for me that would be very very very bad. I mean considering my experience with the i3 adaptive cruise control which randomly decides to drop out and trigger full regen at 65 mph, I have to say I no longer have any wish for the i8 to either have that or the active collision warning. No sir. |

Agreed, but I am sure there will be some changes, maybe in the options offered, since there will be no more Pure Impulse. Also maybe the new Key, and some mechanical improvements. I am sure we'll know in the next few weeks as more info will be available.
