Will OEM reverse camera retrofit work with CCC???
Hello
I have now owned a 2007 Oct E90 with CCC iDrive for just over a week. I have ordered the OEM parts to retrofit PDC front and rear. I want to follow that with an OEM reverse camera retrofit. I know that option was never available for the E90 from BMW. What I can't determine is whether the reverse camera hardware is supported by the CCC iDrive. Google hasn't helped. So my question is: if I install OEM reverse camera hardware, can the CCC iDrive be coded to work, including dynamic parking lines? I am also looking at 3rd party options but I would prefer an OEM solution. |

there were two OEM cameras for CCC
1. camera intergrated with ECU for E70 and E71 - it is possible to code it in manual, but there is no info if it fit e90 trunk space 2. bmw roundvision - this is front and back camera using ACM video interface using picture overlay. it is EOL now and it is do not have guidelines there is non-oem modmynav video interface for any cheap china camera which also using overlay picture with dynamic guidelines

Yes, you just need the camera and the video interface.
Camera is cheap - $30 shipped for the trunk handle replacement camera. Camera is pretty easy to install - getting that wire ran through the rubber boot from the trunk to the car sucks. I just installed my camera last night but haven't bought the interface yet. Those typically sell for $250-300. I had to replace the roundel so I decided to just do it all at once while I was in there. Can't tell you how the camera is but I like the trunk release actuator on this unit better than the OEM release. |

Hello
I have also found Alpine Topview Camera for BMW X5 Which looks good and I guess could be adapted to other BMWs. I can't find a retailer and I guess it needs CIC. I am finding very little info on recoding and few products for CCC. Staying with CCC might leave me in a technical cul-de-sac. I guess my other option is to upgrade CCC to CIC to make it easier to add future mods. At present my modding roadmap includes:

I bought the kit from Bimmertech...I have CIC but am pretty sure they have a kit for the CCC. The kit isn't cheap but it is excellent from top to bottom and the Customer Service is exceptional. I highly recc.

Honestly, with this list it would be a waste of time/money to stick with CCC. I've looked into BT music, PCD, & rear camera for my CCC and it's just a headache (and even with aftermarket video interfaces it's not exactly cheap). Go with a NBT retrofit or at least CIC, I think you'll be much happier in the end.

Are you sure it was verified to work with CCC? I think I know the thread you're referring to, and despite someone stating it would work, I hadn't seen anyone posting that had succeeded with CCC...

Hello
I still have a lot to learn about these cars. It looks like CIC will have all the features I want. There seems to be a lot of knowledge on the forums and I guess it will probably be a cheaper path than NBT. My wife is useless at backing so I really want a rear camera (at least) with dynamic lines. That would be a big help to her. |

$130 rear view camera retrofit ---> http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1005301
As others have stated its not clear whether it will work with CCC. Dazz if you decide to keep your CCC and get this to work let me know. Im in NZ too and there are places that will retrofit CIC to you Jap import but its going to cost around NZD 1500. Not worth it imo. |

I have a rear view camera built in in my 2009 BMW X5 xDrive35d (E70), and I was wondering whether you know of any High-Def replacement camera out there that I can swap with the original camera to make the display look better. I have CCC.
