Front lip installation screws
Hello all,
I just recently received my Lightweight front lip spoiler and it came with self tapping screws. I was curious as what your thoughts on what is more secure, bolts with lock nuts vs self tapping screws. |

Just got my front lip spoiler installed today (not by myself) and after it was complete I got some of my OEM screws back. Is this normal or is the front lip spoiler suppose to use all the OEM screws as well?

Seems to be the norm. The shop that did my install said they felt the screws were not suitable for installation on a car. It seems like LightWeight sent us drywall screws or something. The shop sourced some proper ones for me. That thing is never coming off.

Somebody is smoking something here...the screws that came with my lip were the same dia but much longer, washers too. I did the install myself and it is way adequate. If I push/pull on the lip it flexes everything. But then there is always differences of opinions.

The reason the included screws are so hard to put in is that they are the wrong thread pitch/count. The OEM front spoiler/splitter uses all existing mounting points. So yes, you will receive all the stock hardware back if new hardware is used. I used the stock hardware and trimmed the washers to fit.
