Standard halogen to xenon fault light showing. Help
Hi everyone. I'm new here and could do with a little help!
I bought an E90 330d sport a few months ago which I love. Its Le mans blue with hifi speaker pack, comfort access, dakota leather, heated seats, bluetooth with telematics, interior light pack, pdc, chrome tail pipes, shadowline etc.Since I have bought it I have fitted 19" style 230 wheels, rear spoiler and now xenon lights. The car is great but I really wanted xenon lights with angel eyes, so scoured the internet and managed to get a complete pair secondhand. I fitted them this week (bit fiddly) altered the wiring and got them working. Great, but I now have front light warning signal coming up on my dash but not all the time prob about 80% of the time. Anyone know how to sort this. I thought it would be ok as I used factory fit items. My dealer has refused to do it for me just like they woul'nt supply and fit new ones for me when I enquired about them. They said BMW told them if they were not spec. on the car when new.You can't purchase them! They are not to be a aftermarket fit and this is why they are not available in the07/08 accessory brochure! Hello and welcome,
Fantastic choice of wheels I think you will need your dealer to ''clear'' the error message, they may even do this free of charge if your really polite to them Carlos

I remember reading somewhere that the current through the bulbs is monitored and if the 'bulb' is not what is expected it can create the warning light issue, i have even heard of people having to fit resistors in series with the 'bulb' to get the correct current.
Someone may be able to give you more info, have a scout about on the forum it must be on here i read it |

I'd say you just need the fault code cleared, take it to a dealer and don't tell them you've fitted Xexons

Carsoft
Sorry to seem ignorant but what is carsoft?
My dealer already knows about the lights as I tryed to buy them there first. I could try next nearest dealer about 30 miles away maybe, and say fault was on when I bought the car but I can't find any lamps out..... |
