http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111381

M3 is faster than the B3 and the slowest of the 3 is the AMG
(c63)

Edit, sorry the B3 was the slowest.

That deserves an entry in 'Postwah of the Year' award.

Carl in this test the M3 was the fastest.

In all the others the C63 is the faster car.

It clearly was wet and the C63 huuummmmuuugous power was hard to get down.

fastest 0-60 time recorded so far has been 3.9 secs by Car and driver.

It takes the M3 4 seconds longer to get to 150mph than the C63.

Anyhow they are all much of a muchness. They are all great cars.

How could it have been wet, the M3 wont do 0-100 in under 10 secs in the wet. More like 14.

look at the photos (edited by Viv)!!! the track is very wet

in the wet an M3 with Mdiff and only 295lbft will accelerate better than a car with 443lbft and no diff. Do you understand the principal of traction???

Sometimes Carl you really are irritating.

i dont give a flying if the track was wet. AN M3 WONT DO 0-100 in under 10 dec in the wet. For all those times it WAS DRY.

Stevie your being irritating, if they can do those times in the wet then knock off 3-4 seconds for the dry

thus an M3 0-100 IN 6 secs. i dont think so....

Carl im sorry you know everything about everything....

as if a wet track would add 4 seconds to a 0-100 run...... (edited by Viv).

Remember top gear???? they reckon a wet track adds 4 seconds to the lap time!!!

your just being silly (edited by Viv)

ok then why did a M3 do the standing quarter nearly 3 seconds slower in the wet than it could in the dry?

probbably becase the driver couldnt drive that well. Its easy to do a massive wheelspin to loose time, however driven properly it wont be that much slower.

Well to be fair, it would be at least 2 seconds slowe to 100 in the wet.

therefore these times i have linked, where done in the dry.

Who cares, a mapped 335d will beat them all.

5th gear had a roilling run with the 63 and M3 last week (on a bone dry track) and the 63 was only 2 mph quicker down the straight but Tiff braked much later in the 63. Can`t remember the exact terminal speeds but they were something like 136 and 138 mph.

Alright kids calm down!!

Carlos, just keep in mind that all you read regarding car reviews are not as black and white as the times recorded. There are many variants including conditions, driver etc.

Steve A, is there really any need to get so abusive? Carlos is entitled to post his views even if they aren't always correct.

My view is the M3 is the better driver's car and is why I would choose it over the Merc. (I'm not including the B3 in this)
As you say Steve the cars are all very similar and awesome in their own rights. But it's seems the Merc is all about power and straight line speed.

On the subject of views you (Steve A) said in another thread
"i'll bet my bottom dollar on the streets of UK C63 would leave the M3 dead."

But have then said in this thread that the poor times where due to the wet conditions and that the M3 can put the power down better.
As it with British weather it is often wet and with British A and B roads often being very twisty and with a poor surface, l would say that the M3 would be the better car for UK roads, I'm afraid it's the autobahn for the Merc to prove superior.

Wink Relax Steve!

Steve & Carlos- please try to minimise the personal verbal abuse- it takes me a long time to think of what to use to replace some of your 'descriptions'.

I've got to tell you, I've got a number of cards I'm supposed to dish out when this happens & I'm wondering what'll happen if I give you both a yellow card.

Now play quietly, otherwise I'm going to slap you both with your own wrists, when I see you at UK5, ok.
