Shift Knob Questions

I searched, but id rather get a direct answer.

I have standard oem 6mt shift knob, im looking for a new shift knob, zhp or perforated one.

My question is, can i just get one from the M3 forums? (knob only) or do i need the boot as well, and will it fit?

Thanks

I bought a zhp knob from getbmwparts and it took 15 seconds to install. No need to change the boot or anything and it all fit flush.

This picture shows the flush fitment but also makes the knob look huge.

So only in that pic does the knob look that huge? Or is it a little disproportionate?

I love my M-sport perforated shift knob. Also in terms of needing to replace the boot, a lot of them if you order from getbmwparts come with a new boot.

You'd need to either have the lighter kit installed or find ignition on wire in the same area and ground it. Easy to do with a test light or meter.

It is just that picture, it feels and is smaller than the original one.
