Quick Angel Eye Question

Anyone know if the DTEC v9.5 LED driver module touching the metal heat sink on the bulb causes any problems? Installed these in my LCI E90 yesterday and the only way to fit everything in the housing and put the cover back on was to shove it in all together with wires as well as the driver in contact with the heat sink.

Do you have a photo of what you are talking about? Can't picture what you are saying.

I would contact the vendor of these lights and post the findings here for others to reference

I would think you'd want to keep anything that could melt away from the heak sink as it may get hot enough. how do the lights look as well? post up some pics! i've been told by vendors that the plug and play options have come a long way, want to see how these look in daylight direct sun.

+1 as a general rule of thumb electronics would be best not to rest on a hot metal surface. Again the vendor of this product should be responding to you instead

Sorry for the lack of response on my part folks, and pictures too. I'm just in the middle of exams and haven't had any time to participate in the forums! I had the Dtec v9.5 installed as well as my new wheels and spacers. I'll remember to post pictures over the next couple weeks when the heat of exams has passed!!

as everyone has stated, driver modules pointing away from any metal heat generating conductors and no issues quite honestly

Thanks for all the responses. I guess I should have visited the forums sooner and taken you advice... a couple weeks ago the driver side angels stopped working. I switched the LED bulb from the driver side and tested it on the passenger side and it was working so I figured it was just the driver side driver module. Ordered a couple new ones, plugged it in...still no light. I tried the OEM halogen, still didn't light up... Now I'm worried.

I checked the wires, nothing seems to be corroded, fuses seem to be fine as well. If I take it to the dealer, they'll charge me at least $200 for diagnostics and as a student I couldn't afford that haha I'd rather just drive around with no angel eyes as much as that kills my soul.

Any ideas on what it could be? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I will post pics of everything soon as the CF spoiler arrives!!!
